Completely Normal Frames and Real-valued Functions

چکیده
Up to now point-free insertion results have been obtained only for semicontinuous real functions. Notably, there is now available a setting for dealing with arbitrary, not necessarily (semi-)continuous, point-free real functions, due to Gutiérrez Garćıa, Kubiak and Picado, that gives point-free topology the freedom to deal with general real functions only available before to point-set topology. As a first example of the usefulness of that setting, we apply it to characterize completely normal frames in terms of an insertion result for general real functions. This characterization extends a well known classical result of T. Kubiak about completely normal spaces. In addition, characterizations of completely normal frames that extend results of H. Simmons for topological spaces are presented. In particular, it follows that complete normality is a lattice-invariant property of spaces, correcting an erroneous conclusion in [Y.-M. Wong, Lattice-invariant properties of topological spaces, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 26 (1970) 206-208].

The function ring functors of pointfree topology revisited
This paper establishes two new connections between the familiar function ring functor ${mathfrak R}$ on the category ${bf CRFrm}$ of completely regular frames and the category {bf CR}${mathbf sigma}${bf Frm} of completely regular $sigma$-frames as well as their counterparts for the analogous functor ${mathfrak Z}$ on the category {bf ODFrm} of 0-dimensional frames, given by the integer-valued f...

For any archimedean$f$-ring $A$ with unit in whichbreak$awedge (1-a)leq 0$ for all $ain A$, the following are shown to be equivalent: 1. $A$ is isomorphic to the $l$-ring ${mathfrak Z}L$ of all integer-valued continuous functions on some frame $L$. 2. $A$ is a homomorphic image of the $l$-ring $C_{Bbb Z}(X)$ of all integer-valued continuous functions, in the usual se...

A frame $L$ is called {it coz-dense} if $Sigma_{coz(alpha)}=emptyset$ implies $alpha=mathbf 0$. Let $mathcal RL$ be the ring of real-valued continuous functions on a coz-dense and completely regular frame $L$. We present a description of the socle of the ring $mathcal RL$ based on minimal ideals of $mathcal RL$ and zero sets in pointfree topology. We show that socle of $mathcal RL$ is an essent...
متن کاملThe ring of real-valued functions on a frame
In this paper, we define and study the notion of the real-valued functions on a frame $L$. We show that $F(L) $, consisting of all frame homomorphisms from the power set of $mathbb{R}$ to a frame $ L$, is an $f$-ring, as a generalization of all functions from a set $X$ into $mathbb R$. Also, we show that $F(L) $ is isomorphic to a sub-$f$-ring of $mathcal{R}(L)$, the ring of real-valued continu...
متن کاملPointfree topology version of image of real-valued continuous functions
Let $ { mathcal{R}} L$ be the ring of real-valued continuous functions on a frame $L$ as the pointfree version of $C(X)$, the ring of all real-valued continuous functions on a topological space $X$. Since $C_c(X)$ is the largest subring of $C(X)$ whose elements have countable image, this motivates us to present the pointfree version of $C_c(X).$The main aim of this paper is to present t...
